Privacy Policy

Who we are
GradeSprint is developed by Lakesoft Technologies Limited ("Lakesoft Solutions", RC 9454230), a company registered in Nigeria. This policy covers the GradeSprint mobile app and the account you create to use it.
What we collect
When you create a GradeSprint account, we collect:
- Name and username — used to create your account and let you sign back in on any device. A username, not an email address, is what you use to sign in — we know many secondary school students don't have their own email.
- Email address (optional) — if you provide one, we use it only to send you a password reset code if you ever forget your password.
- Password — stored as a one-way cryptographic hash. We cannot see or recover your actual password, including if you contact us for help.
- Account recovery PIN or security question and answer (if you didn't provide an email) — used only to verify it's really you if you need to reset a forgotten password. Like your password, both are stored as one-way cryptographic hashes — we cannot see or recover the actual PIN or answer, including if you contact us for help.
- A random device identifier — generated on your phone when you install the app, not tied to your phone's hardware serial number or advertising ID. Used only to associate purchases and offline practice history with your account.
- Practice activity — which questions you've attempted, whether your answers were correct, and how long you took. This is what powers your progress tracking and lets you pick up practice where you left off on a different device.
- Purchase and subscription status — whether you're on the Starter (Free), Success (Standard), or Excellence AI (Premium) plan, and enough purchase-reference information to verify a purchase actually happened.
We require at least one way for you to recover your account if you forget your password — either an email address, or a recovery PIN / security question. Without one of these, a forgotten password would mean permanently losing access to your account and practice history, so account creation isn't allowed without at least one.
We do not collect:
- Your location
- Your contacts, photos, camera, or microphone
- Any information for advertising purposes — GradeSprint does not show ads or use advertising SDKs
How we use it
- To create and maintain your account, and let you sign in across devices.
- To sync your practice history and unlocked content between devices.
- To verify purchases with Google Play before unlocking Standard or Premium content, so that only people who actually paid get access.
- To improve the accuracy and coverage of practice questions over time (in aggregate — we look at which topics students struggle with generally, not at any one student's individual answers for this purpose).
Who we share it with
- Google Play — when you make a purchase, we send Google your purchase reference (not your name, email, or practice history) to confirm the purchase is genuine before unlocking paid content.
- Our hosting provider — GradeSprint's servers and database run on shared web hosting; our hosting provider can access the underlying infrastructure but does not use your data for any purpose of their own.
We do not sell student data, and we do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party for marketing purposes.
Content creation tools (including AI-based extraction of past exam questions from PDF documents) are used only by GradeSprint's own content editors to prepare practice questions. Student accounts, practice activity, and purchase data are never sent to these tools.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and practice history for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account (see "Your choices" below), we delete your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we're required to keep purchase records for legal or accounting reasons.
Security
Passwords are never stored in plain text. Account access uses a token that can be revoked. Purchases are verified directly with Google Play's servers rather than trusted from the app alone, so that purchases can't be faked.
Children's privacy
GradeSprint is built for students preparing for WAEC, NECO, JAMB, and GCE examinations, which means many users are minors. We collect only the information described above, and only what's needed to run the app — we do not knowingly collect more information from a minor than from an adult user, and we do not use any student's data for advertising. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with information you'd like removed, contact us using the details below.
Your choices
- You can review and update your name, and add or change your email, from within the app.
- You can ask us to delete your account and associated data by contacting us below.
- You can stop using the app and uninstall it at any time; this does not automatically delete your account, so contact us if you'd also like your data removed.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a material way, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of GradeSprint after a change means you accept the updated policy.
